End of the School Year

The kindergarten classes learned about the butterfly life cycle. They did a presentation that included a song, a poem and releasing their butterflies.
Mrs. Dinerman releasing the butterflies. Benson was dying to get in on the action.
During spirit week, Brig chose to be Michael Phelps on olympian/athlete day because he thought it would be awesome to wear his swim suit to school. He also dressed up as a firefighter on community helper day.
Brigham  and his friends, Christopher and Joshua during field day. I was a volunteer and didn't get to see him do all of the events but I know he had a blast!
Brigham was blessed with lots of great friends!

He got to miss the last week and a half of school for our vacation to Montana. School goes so late here! Brigham grew and learned a lot this past year. He is maturing socially and is an advanced reader and loves math problems. We are looking forward to next year!

Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard

Benson's "She Shell" collection
We took a fun 10 year anniversary trip to Cape Cod and Martha's vineyard with the kids. It was a little cold and rainy, but beautiful just the same. Our hotel room was a surprise upgrade-a suite right on the beach. We spent a lot of time combing that beach for shells and sea glass, even in the rain. Benson cried every time we told him it was time to head indoors. He LOVES collecting shells and little treasures. He insisted on carrying his bag of treasures everywhere we went, and he even slept with them under his pillow. Brigham loved swimming in the pool and the Whydah pirate museum. We almost got kicked out of the museum after Brigham set off the alarm trying to get a closer look at the treasure. Arrrrrrgg! My favorite part was taking the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. The ferry was huge and we enjoyed watching the boats and the waves. The kids thought it was neat seeing the cars drive in and out of the ferry. We also explored the town of Chattam. If you have watched the movie "The Finest Hours" you might recognize the lighthouse. We can't wait to go to Cape Cod again when the weather is warmer!

Benson really doesn't like swimming. We made some good progress this time though. He will finally jump form the side to our arms.
