Getting out of Amarillo

This will be our last week in Amarillo. For the most part we have enjoyed our stay. It has been a great city to sell alarms. Jared's total is 94 sales and counting. The office as a whole is doing amazing also. Jared is quite pleased with how well the guys are doing since they are all rookies. I'm excited for the move to Lubbock. There really isn't much to do in Amarillo so hopefully the move will break up the summer a little bit. I am most excited to live close to the Lubbock temple. I have been doing some geneology and have a few names to take to the temple.

Last Thursday there was a tornado warning for Amarillo. The city sirens were going off and the clouds in the sky were swirling around like crazy. I saw one of our neighbors leaving and I asked her if the sirens meant there was a tornado. She said, "Yes and I'm getting out of here!" Well that sure concerned me. All of the APX apts are on the top floor so there really was nowhere for me to go except for the bathroom. So I stayed inside while Jared hung out at Taco Bell waiting to go knocking again. Thankfully the tornado stayed out of town a little ways and didn't cause much damage. So really I guess I got a little scared for nothing. But you see, when I was little I had nightmares about tornadoes coming and wiping us out. I think this irrational fear of tornadoes in Montana was due to the tornado movies like "Twister" that came out about that time. LOL
Besides moving and the crazy weather, not a whole lot is happening. I am almost done with two of my classes, Epidemiology and Consumer Health, and then it will be on to the next ones. My next post I will be sure to download some pictures off of my camera to show off.

Lenny the kitten

So I've wanted a kitten for awhile but I had decided that I would have to wait. That all changed when Jorden, Jared's brother, sold a security system to a family that was trying to give their siamese kittens away. So he called me and told me how cute they were. We went and looked at them and of course we wanted one :). When we were trying to decide what to name him, I jokingly suggested we call him Leonard. Well Jared loved the name! So we call him Lenny. Lenny is actually a perfect name for him because he is such a silly kitten. He constantly wants to play and stalk things. We got him when he was six weeks old, and now he's about eight weeks. I think he's about twice as big now as what he is in these pictures. The video is of him chasing his toy. Thanks Jared for letting me get a kitten to keep me company this summer!
