Brielle's Newborn Photos

Brielle LaVonne

On March 17th at 8:16 a.m. our beautiful little girl entered the world. She weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. We were anxiously waiting and praying for her and her birthmom's safe delivery in the waiting room. We watched the sunrise over the Wasatch mountains while we were waiting. Around 10 a.m. we were invited by her birthdad, Steven, to come and meet her. We were ready and couldn't wait to see her. We entered the room and there was a beautiful, peaceful feeling in her room. Her birthmom, Kailee, was holding her and asked if we were ready to meet our daughter. She handed her to me and of course  we were overcome with a lot of emotions and started crying. We then got a little surprise and were told she had red hair! Sure enough, she had lots of beautiful red hair, a little darker than Benson's. I then handed her to Jared and she snuggled up to him and finished eating her bottle with her hand wrapped around Jared's finger. Already a Daddy's girl!

We had a photographer in the room with us taking pictures while we visited. We didn't stay long so that everyone could rest. The next couple of days we came for short visits and more pictures. The boys were so excited when they got to meet her! They brought her and her biological sister and brother gifts (matching dolls and a matching big brother t shirt like theirs) and were in quiet awe when they got to hold her. Benson is thrilled that she has red hair and blue eyes like him. He calls her his twin and his lil' pumpkin. The boys are so sweet with her and so willing to help out. It's hard to put into words how we feel about the miracle of adoption. There are so many emotions involved, but overall we feel an overwhelming amount of gratitude and love for our children's birth-parents. We are also very humbled and in awe of the love Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ have for us and our family. We are so blessed to be entrusted with these special spirits. The instant love and bond we feel for our children is no coincidence. 

We chose the name Brielle because we wanted her to be reminded in a way of the love that her first mama has for her, as well as my love for her. I've always liked the name Brielle, and when we found out Kailee's middle name is Breanne, we thought it would be a perfect fit if we combined Breanne with McKell to get Brielle. And we also wanted her to have a Haynes family name. We chose LaVonne in remembrance of my grandma who I was very close to growing up. Brielle, we are so excited to watch you grow and learn, and we hope that you will follow closely in the footsteps of these wonderful women you are named after.
