Here are some pictures of our latest adventures. We took a trip to the city to go to the Manhattan temple. It was awesome to leave the noisy streets and enter a holy place of peace and comfort. I couldn't have picked a more needed place for the house of the Lord. It was simply beautiful.

Week 3 of NY: Manhattan and Fire Island

Finished!
This week I completed my internship with the DeKalb County Health Department with over 200 hours put in. It feels great. Wahoo! Like most interns I didn't get to do a ton of things but let me mention some highlights:
- My favorite part was helping my supervisor teach child seat classes for underserved women. Most of these women were refugees from other countries and were so grateful to learn and to receive a car seat.
- I collected data and designed a lot of materials for the county website on injury prevention (like poison prevention, bike safety etc.). None of it is posted on there yet but sometime soon.
- I got to help organize the annual "Walk to School Day" that is coming up in October. Its a great way to get kids to exercise and have safer communities so they can walk to school.

Long Island
As many of you already know, we have moved to Long Island for the rest of the summer. I was a little shell shocked at the idea of living so close to NYC at first but it's not at all like I was expecting. The area is very suburbanish and spread out. Our apartments are in Bellport which is just south of Medford on the map above. We are about an hour from NYC. My brother Jake said Jared planned it this way so he could watch the yankees play. LOL. Yes we will be going to a game or two. And yes I get to continue my internship with the health department via long distance-so that is quite a blessing. Here are some pics of our first week here:
