Draper Temple Open House

Isn't it beautiful? Jared and I went to the open house last Friday with my friend Elly and her little boy Luke. All temples are beautiful of course but I really liked the painted panoramas of mountain scenes in the ordinance rooms (one of them is of the Draper's Corner Canyon and its view of the Salt Lake Valley), and also the wood that was imported from Africa that is throughout the temple. If you have the chance I highly recommend a tour! Anyone can go to the open house and you can reserve a spot online at http://www.lds.org/reservations/0,10751,1619-1-501,00.html.

I just wanna say how thankful I am for the privilege to have these temples here on the earth so we can learn, make covenants to serve our Lord and neighbors, be sealed as an eternal family, and do ordinances for our beloved ancestors. What a great blessing!

CANCUN

Cancun was a blast! It was a short trip but worth it. Although it rained most of the time we were there it was still warm. We spent most of our time playing in the ocean and riding the giant waves. After awhile though I got tired of being tossed around, drug under, and slammed into the beach. I had so much sand in my hair that it took me several days to get it all out! LOL. We also went on a snorkeling adventure in some national park. We were snorkeling for two whole hours and we saw lots of fish, coral, and even a sting ray. Jared and I LOVE snorkeling. The resort we stayed at was all inclusive so we had all the authentic Mexican food and pina coladas we desired. yum! So here are a few of the pictures we took...it seems like most of them we took at nighttime, I guess we were too busy playing during the day to take time for pictures:). Above is one of the crocodiles we saw on our way to snorkeling. The other one we saw was 3 times this size. Yikes.

Doin' fine in 2009

So I have really slacked off in posting to our blog...so a late Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all! We really enjoyed our Christmas break and are back to studying already. Right now I am waiting for Jared to get done with his class so I thought I would write a little bit. Unfortunately I don't have any of our pictures with me so I will have to add them later.
We visited lots of family over the break, including Jared's Grandpa Ray and Aunt Val who live in Laurel Montana. They spoiled us with lots of good eats:) Then we headed to Fairfield and had a blast playing in the snow, eating mom's delicious cooking, feeding cows, and playing with Jackie and Mark's kids. Our nephew Boston just loved Lenny, our cat, and Leslie our niece, was a sledding and bowling machine. Might I add she almost beat me in bowling! :)
We also got stuck in a huge drift due to all the wind and snow by mom and dad's on our journey back to Utah. Dad had to pull us out with the truck and we shoveled snow for quite awhile so we could get through. It was quite the adventure.
New Years was spent with the Weishaar fam in Shelby. It was very snowy and cold the whole time we were there, but we enjoyed being there with Jared's family. His brothers Ryan and Jorden were able to make it up there too. We went sledding a couple of times where the snow was up to our chests! We also played water spoons which if anyone knows how to play that you know you really want to get a spoon or else you'll be up all night using the bathroom like me. Ha
So far school is going good, I have a couple of fun classes this semester.
Jared and I are in a ceramics class together which we're excited about and I'm also in a volleyball class. I figured I might as well take some fun classes since I just need some more credits.
And the thing we're most excited about... Saturday we are headed here!!! Cancun here we come!
