17 Months

Brigham at 17 months:
~24 pounds
I just learned to jump with both feet coming off of the ground, while saying "hop" or "bow" (bounce).
I could sit and read books for hours.
My appetite has picked up and I want to eat all of the time.
I'm very affectionate. Will wave and blow kisses at anyone and everyone. Even cars that pass by.
I started going to nursery a few weeks early and am really liking playing with the other kids.
I think its the coolest thing to hangout with the young women and scouts in our ward (Dad is a scout master and mom is YW secretary).
I can make the sounds of most animals. New ones this month are owl, monkey, elephant, and sheep.
I'm either going to be a mechanic or engineer when I grow up. Mom and Dad took me to the paint store and I started playing nicely with the blocks in the children's corner. After Mom and Dad bought the paint they found me lying on my back underneath a professional paint sprayer twisting off a screw. I was covered in grease but I sure wanted to know how that thing was put together!

We took a trip to Missoula to play at the water park with the cousins and papa and grandma! Loved that papa had one last hoorah before his surgery! We all came zipping out of those water slides!

Mom and Dad started painting the house (just about done, minor hold up with the yellow paint but it is growing on us.)
Playing with homemade play dough!

I had the most fun just smashing it with my hands.

I can often be found walking around in mom and dads shoes
Or cuddling with a blankie and a book
I'm SUPER ticklish, especially on my neck and under my chin.

I got to help take care of cousin Gracelin while Aunt Ariel took her NCLEX (and passed! congrats Ariel R.N.)!
I love babies and was very concerned if she cried. I tried giving her my food and toys to make her happy.
Mom and Dad went night skiing
The view from the top of the ski hill. You can kind of see about where our house is if you find the small lake that is in the center-right of the picture.
The weather has been so warm we went for a stroll downtown and had to stop at Parrots candies
Grandpa and Dad at Parrots
Historical Reeder's Alley...gold miners lived here. First cabin in the valley built in 1864.
Dad and Uncle Jorden went ice fishing on Mission Lake on the reservation. Dad caught a 4 pound trout!
Mr. Brown eyes! I hung out with Gramma while Mom and Dad went to Cardston to the temple.
I watched Grandpa go to work on the train! Chooo choo!

I'm trying so hard to put on my own shoes!

Christmas 2012

I'm slowly grasping the fact that the holidays are over and 2013 is rolling forward. December was a fun filled month. Christmas was a quiet but pleasant one for us this year. It ended up being just the three of us due to some bad colds. We enjoyed watching Brigham slowly tear every little piece of paper off the presents and then get excited with the box and then eventually the present. He probably only needed one present this year- he opened his Little People Noah's Ark first and just wanted to play with that for half an hour. So we took most of the day opening the presents and playing with them one at a time, stopping for snack breaks and naptime.
New Years was spent at Papa's and Grandma's. We played and played! We went 4 wheeling, helped brand some yearlings, ate at the Best Wok and watched Les Mis.
Christmas morning. Brig loves looking at pictures of "Je" (Jesus).

He is usually starving when he first wakes so we ate breakfast and then opened presents. Crepes and berries and whipped cream, sausage and milk. Had to change him out of his jammies after that breakfast. :)
G and G W. stopped by earlier in the week on their way to Boise.
Showing off his teddy bear back pack! Thanks G&G W!

Riding Thunder! The best present even though he had been playing with it since it arrived three weeks earlier.

Absolutely love this picture! He was so excited about the Fisher Price little people.

 ROAR!

Race track!
The day after Christmas we went to the indoor carousel. Brig wasn't too sure about riding on the horses so we sat in a booth instead.

 Sledding Brigham style!

The only family picture I managed to take of us over Christmas.
 Being silly with Gramma!

He plopped right down on the kitchen floor to open his presents.
He was so cute with his new jammies. He layed down on top of them and started cuddling with them. Then went and gave gramma a hug and took them over to Papa to show him too. Papa papa!

My two boys in the corral watching the yearlings. Hope you all had a great Christmas like us!

16 Month Antics

This is really late so maybe it should be 16 and almost 17 month old antics. :)
My new tricks this month are turning light switches on and off. I still love climbing capers like seeing how quickly I can get to the top of the table before Mom notices. Drinking from regular cups rather than sippy cups is my preference. I figured out how to open all of the doors in the house (they are pull down latch handles) making it necessary for Mom to lock the outside doors and barricade the one to the storage room downstairs. I started throwing tantrums everytime I was put into the highchair so now I get to use booster seat with buckles and I am much happier. I love to help clean the house- sweeping and throwing garbage away are my favorites. I'm also mommy's excercise buddy. I can handle 15 minutes in my pack n play while she runs on the treadmill. I like to give her high-fives and knuckles to cheer her on. And when she does push-ups I climb on her back to be helpful or I imitate her by lying on the floor. Haha (I guess mom needs to work on those!)
My communication skills are really taking off. Mom and Dad can't always understand me but I sure know what I'm saying! I don't just jibber jabber. I'm very talkative but a lot of it just doesn't come out quite right yet. I will say ya or na to any question I'm asked. Animal noises are really becoming fun. Woof and meow and I growl or roar for about anything else. Some new words I can say are boo (book), wa (water), k (ok), re-ee se go (ready set go), oh boy, uh oh, boow (bounce, jump) wat tis (watch this and maybe what's this)!
My nick-name can't be "fang" or "vampire" anymore because one of my front top teeth is finally poking through! And my other one is close!
I opened one of my Christmas presents early...Thunder talks and sings and is my best buddy.

 Snitching peas...
Dad cutting down our Christmas trees. We took a 4 wheeler up to the mountains to look for a tree. A lot of them were brown and dying so we didn't find one until it was dark outside.
It was the biggest tree we've ever gotten. I was pretty good about leaving the ornaments alone.
Eating olives during Gracelin's baby blessing weekend.

 Daddy and baby Gracelin
 Standing in Gramma's drawer.

I'm really good at using utensils now.
And climbing up onto the table.
Making sugar cookies. I would snitch the excess dough while Mom put the cutouts onto the pan.

christmas post coming soon!
