Walt Disney World

We had a blast in Disney World in June. We spent 8 days with G&G W. and Angie, Jeff and kids. We didn't know for sure if Jared would be able to get the time off until a few weeks before the trip. It all worked out perfectly though. Angie is the family's travel agent. She had been planning this trip for years. She knew all of the ins and outs of Disney World . It was so nice just to tag along and not stress about a thing because she had it all planned out. Neither Jared or I had been to WDW and we were super excited to take Brig. Our biggest surprise was how much energy he had. We would wake up early to get to the parks before the crowds and then come back late at night. Brigham would just go, go, go, the whole time and never got tired or cranky. Most days we would go to our vacation home in the middle of the day to grab a bite to eat and rest for an hour or so. After that it was straight back to the fun!
Unfortunately, on our last day there, Brigham got into the camera case and threw the camera onto the ground. The lens broke and the memory card fell out. I didn't realized the card fell out until we got home. So we don't have any pictures of our own. Luckily, Jeff and Ang took a few.

Probably my favorite picture of us at the park
One of our favorite rides was splash mountain. Check out those faces!
The castle...
Wayne and Sherry in front of our rental house. It was just a few miles from the parks and was plenty large enough for all of us. Plus it had its own private pool.

The first park we went to was Magic Kindom. I guess its like Disneyland? I've never been but I guess it has a lot of the same rides.

It was super hot and humid the first couple of days we were there. The other days it rained. Brig enjoyed all of the kiddie lands.
The very first ride we went on: Dumbo. Cade's favorite ride.
Here we all are waiting in line for Dumbo. Thanks to Angie's careful scheduling, the fastpass system and child-swap, we never had to wait in line for longer than 30 minutes.
Princess Whitney celebrated her birthday while we were there.
G&G W. and the grandkids. Brigham loved the mickey mouse ears suckers at the parks.
All of us in front of splash mountain.
Brig and Cade were best buddies the whole week.
The parades were awesome! We also really enjoyed all of the shows. Brig's favorite was Mickey's Philharmagic which is like Fantasia but in 3d with water and bubbles that splash the audience. Brig laughed and laughed during it and then when it was over he clapped and cheered, "Good show!" Jared got a kick out of the Monster's Inc comedy show. "That's Mike Wasouski with one 'eye'!"
Tuesday was spent in Hollywood studios. This was probably my favorite park. It had a great laid back atmosphere and some really great interactive rides and shows. Like one ride we went on put you in the middle of different movie scenes and the actors interacted with you. I also liked the Star Tours ride. You put on 3d glasses and your seat moves so it feels like you are in a Star Wars scene. Jared's favorite rides were Rockn Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror. I have a great sound video of Jared screaming his head off. He is quite the entertainer. I will try and get it on here somehow.
Lexi became a movie star overnight. The "director" pulled her off the street and cast her in a movie. So fun!
Lightning McQueen made a special appearance during the Lights Motors Action stunt show. Brigham's eyes were huge during the show.
Kiddos in the "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" playland.
The spider web in the playland. Brigham could have played here all day. We spent about 2 hours here :)

Wednesday was a rest day. We swam in the pool, did a little shopping, and some of us went to the Orlando temple and ate at Panera Bread, my favorite restaurant. Another day we ate at Chuy's, our favorite TexMex restaurant. We love the chicka chicka boom boom sauce :)

Thursday was spent in EPCOT (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow). It also had a nice relaxing feel to it. A little heavy on the evironmentalist side of things but still very interesting. It was the best place to meet the characters because there weren't any lines. Brigham loved all of the characters. He would run right up to them and give them high fives and hugs. He even gave Minnie a kiss.

While at Epcot we met up with our good friends Brent and Angela who now live in Orlando. We walked around the World Showcase Lagoon (there are things from all over the world represented there) and ate a Japanese dinner with them and watched the fireworks show. I unfortunately do not have a picture with them.
The next day we went to Animal Kingdom. Our favorite part was the safari. It was great having Brigham see some wild animals for his very first time. I think his favorites were the hippos. He kept saying hippo during the whole safari. We also really enjoyed the Lion King show. I have to say that all of the shows were fantastic.

Overall I was super impressed with the WDW parks. All of the workers are happy and helpful, the parks are super clean, and we really liked how we could go to the front of the lines with the child swap rule. We have a lot of great memories from this trip. Way too many to put on here, but at least now its a part of our blog journal.

22 Months

This post is kind of late but here are some things about Brigham at 22 and 1/2 Months

June was such a busy month for us. I think we were home 12 days the whole month, and a week of that was spent recovering from my surgery. But it was a good busy. Busy having fun! We went to Disney World (separate post coming on that), Duke's wedding, a family reunion (pics from that will be on 23 month post) and lots of other places.

Potty training is going really well this week.  He thinks he's pretty big stuff sitting on the potty. Sunday he had zero accidents and even went twice while at church. This was huge because he hadn't gone too many times in public restrooms. He likes to get a sticker or a dum dum sucker for a reward. He only wears diapers at night and during nap time now. Woohoo!

Some things he likes to do for fun:
He is all boy and wants to be outside all day long. Swinging, sliding, digging in the dirt, swimming, and running up and down our driveway. He likes to yell "marks, set, go!" and then race down. And of course pushing/riding trucks and strollers around on the driveway if really fun too.
When we are inside he likes to play with his tool set or his trains and cars. He is a daredevil too and has a blast jumping from the coffee table to the couches.

His bottom teeth are finally making an appearance. He's just had his two front bottom teeth for almost a year now.

He is such a good talker. He'll repeat anything you say (so be careful) and is getting really good at 3-4 word sentences. Like tonight after he had smeared his dinner all over his face and hair he said, "I'm a mess!" Jared's favorite words to hear are "Daddy home!" I think those are mine too.

Duke and Natalie got married in Bountiful. They looked so happy together and Natalie is a great addition to our family. Brig calls her Nanie. Brig had a fun time playing with all of his cousins. Everyone looked so sharp in their mint green and peach clothes. Sorry family, no new pictures. All of these are borrowed from your blogs since our camera was broken.

You will notice Brigham is holding a firetruck and bus in almost every single picture. He did not put them down the whole weekend. Jaxon was nice enough to give them to him when it came time to go home.

Don't I have the most beautiful sisters??

I think Jake and I inherited Dad's non photogenic gene. Jake has his eyes closed and my mouth is open. Ha

Love this picture of Mom and Dad.
After the wedding festivities we hung out in Park City for a few days. We rode the gondolas up the mountain a few times and hiked and swam and played. Us girls even got away for a little sisterly bonding at Kneaders.
I think Brigham looks tired in all of these pictures. It doesn't really look like it but he was having a blast.

And of course we have to sing Slippery Fish with Papa Moo Moo.

Playing in the snow at the top of the mountain.

Having a great time in the kiddie pool
