Happy Fall Y'all!

Happy Fall Y'all!
The last couple of months we've been busy doing yard work. We planted three trees and 60+ bushes. Jared dug every single hole except for about five. That's my man! And of course, Brigham helped too. He had a blast playing in the dirt and using his little shovel to dig holes. We had more asphalt laid beside the garage for a place to park our toys. It also provides more room for pushing dump trucks and trikes around. Awesome! It was a lot of fun working together as a family improving our yard. The next step is sprinklers, we didn't quite get them in before the weather got cold, but we'll be ready when spring arrives.
Lately, Brigham has taken to looking at books quietly on his own. Reading books is about the only time he will sit still.
Here's Brig snuggling in Mom and Dad's bed trying to get better from his double ear infection/croup. He is always so happy, even when he is sick. All three of us got bad colds that turned into conjuctivitis and brochitis for2 weeks. Jared still has a cough. The night Brigham had croup it took forever for him to start breathing somewhat normal. It was so sad, he kept asking me to kiss him better through gasps of air. We were sitting in the steamy bathroom and we said a prayer-Brigham said "Father, feel better soon". So precious. He is getting really good at prayers and he made the connection between praying and feeling better.

Here he is reading books in his "fort"

 "Cheesy face"
 "Silly face"
One of Brig's favorite activities lately is play dough.
He also enjoys being pulled around on his "blue bla bla" blue blanket.
One night he pretended to be Buzz Lightyear by putting his train bucket on his head and shouting, "To finity and beyon!"

Playing at the park and creek with our friends, Olivia and Brayden. We've been taking advantage of the nice Fall weather by going to the park, four wheeling, and lots of walks.

We've been working on learning colors. Brigham likes to call everything green or blue. He can't quite distinguish between some of the colors. We have colored sour cream containers that he sorts "pom poms" into. I think its helping.
This was just too sweet of a scene to not take a picture of. I love my little family. I am so blessed.

Mr. Turkey

York 38 Special

Jared and Ryan did the York 38 Special mountain bike ride in August. It was a thirty eight mile loop in in the Big Belt mountains. Jared's time was 4 hours and 7 minutes. That's very impressive, especially since he didn't train at all before hand.
Look at that smile of triumph as he crosses the finish line! We are so proud of you Jared!
Brigham was yelling "Go Dad!" and then ran up to him afterwards and said, "Daddy, win race!"

Afterward we enjoyed York burgers and riding on the Grizzly bear. We are looking forward to making it a family event next year!

Choo Choo! Brig is 2!

Choo Choo! Brig is 2!

Oh my word! Where do I start with our loveable two year old?! Time flies. Brigham you have brought so much joy and laughter into our lives. We are so proud of the big boy you growing up to be and look forward to your smiles and funny shenanigans every day.

He was thoroughly spoiled for his birthday, as he should be, and we celebrated for several days. First, he had a birthday playdate with some of his little friends. There were giggles and frosting everywhere! No matter though, they just washed off in the pool and slip-n-slide! So fun!

Frosting and watermelon juice running down his neck. Can life get any better?

The bubble machine and swingset were also a hit.
It was an overcast day, but I think the kids still enjoyed getting wet on our redneck slipnslide!

I couldn't get him to smile for the camera. But he was excited to see his train cake. I didn't get a picture of him blowing out the candle but he did blow it out :) I have a video of it but I will not be posting it due to my embarrassing singing voice. Haha.We had lots of family here to help celebrate Brig's big day! Papa and nana choo choo, Ryan and Melissa, and Papa and nana moo moo all came to join in on the fun.

Choo choo Brig is two! All aboard!
I just have to say that Jared was more concerned than me about cake getting everywhere and put Brig's sleeved bib on. :)

Brig is very into trains right now. So of course his favorite present was his train set.

What We've Been Up to this Summer

Prepare yourself for a very long post full of pictures and me bragging about our adorable son. Haha, that's what this blog is all about anyways. This summer we have really taken advantage of the nice weather and every chance we get we are doing something fun outside or traveling to be with friends and family. We love that Brig gets to spend lots of time with grandparents and cousins.
In June we spent a few days in Idaho for a family reunion on Jared's Mom's side of the family. We had fun canoeing, kayaking, and having mud wars at the pond. Jared and I were also the "fruit snack toss- and- catch- in -your -mouth" Minute to Win it champions. Sadly I didn't get any pictures of the extended family.

Look inside the buffalo's skull to see our little munchkin and our friend Luke Wendt.

4th of July was spent in Fairfield. The kids loved the sparklers, snakes, and snap its.

We watched the 4th of July parade in Choteau. Best part of course was watching the kids go after the candy.

The whole crew

Oh, how Brig loves his cousins

Duke and Natalie came for a visit. We took them 4 wheeling around Hellgate and had a great time.
Brigham loves to pick me flowers.

We spend a lot of days playing in the water. We like our Redneck slip n slide!

Brigham is getting so big! He's grown 5 inches in the last year.
He is very affectionate and empathetic. He is always concerned about how I feel and will often say, "Mommy happy! or Mommy sad."
And our biggest success story of the Summer: Brig is potty trained! Whoop whoop! He only wears a diaper at night time.

He just learned how to say his name. :)

We like to play at parks

Jared spent a whole week at scout camp with his 12 scouts. While the scoutmaster was away, Brig and I went to play at Papa moo moo's. Brig thought is was pretty cool to help Papa bale some hay. However, it wasn't long before we discovered that Brigham gets hay fever.

Enjoying his first ice cream cone that he got to have all to himself.

We also made it up to Shelby for the fair, and to help Gregg and Heather move into their new house.
Brig thought the sheep and pigs were the best in the 4h barns.

Look out kids! Those bears don't look too friendly! :)
We have another avid fan of cafe rio dressing in our household.
Playing on the old trolley downtown...

And the best part about fairs is the greasy food

Jared played in a softball league this summer. Go team Cherry Creek Radio!
The Day crew also came for a visit. We walked around downtown and the historical mining cabins and toured the capital.

Last weekend we went camping and 4-wheeled to Castle Lake. Its an itty bitty lake that is really hard to get to but has some great fishing. We had fun despite the rain, flat air mattress, burnt food, and rough trails.
