Last Spring the world went a little crazy with the COVID-19 pandemic, protests, food and supply shortages and natural disasters. The kids went came home for Spring break and never returned to school. There was a shutdown for 2 weeks where we hardly left our house except to be outside in the fresh air. It wasn't all bad- we spent a lot of time together as a family playing board games, going for walks, dirt biking and golfing. The boys started doing virtual school, which was rough for everyone. Try online kindergarten folks- it's not for the faint of heart. We survived though and are very fortunate to doing in person school this year with some modifications. Our little town was hit hard with the virus. The hospital shut down all non-essential surgeries for a long time. Jared spent a lot of time helping the hospital be prepared for patients needing to be on ventilators. He even configured the ventilators to support more than one patient at a time in an emergency. He spends a lot of time in his PPE (personal protective equipment) for every case and has had minimal exposure to positive patients. We are very thankful we've all stayed healthy and well during the pandemic. Jared has had the first round of the vaccine. I included some funny memes to help us remember and laugh at some of the crazy times. We spent Easter mostly indoors. We had many practice egg hunts and we participated in the town's window egg hunt. We found almost all of the eggs while driving around town. We anxiously awaited General Conference and watched it together as a family. It brought peace and reassurance to our minds. We even got to participate in the Hosanna shout to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the first vision. The boys finished Kindergarten and 2nd grade. In May we bought a house in the exact neighborhood we wanted- just around the corner from Wayne and Sherry. It was strange going into the bank with a mask on like a robber. We even signed all the closing documents in our vehicle. We moved in May and had lots of help getting our stuff across town. We are loving having a nice backyard to play in and having the kids walk to and from Grandma and Grandpa's! Jared even walks to work and can see the Mercy flight helicopter coming and going. There are a lot of projects we have planned for the house- it will keep us busy for a long time! Pictures are in reverse chronological order for some reason.
