Visitors and the Geyser in our Bathroom
So yesterday was a crazy day. Jared had just gotten out of the shower when the knob to turn the water on/off exploded. Then the water came gushing out, just as if it were coming out of a fire hydrant. And I am not exaggerating, we have excellent water pressure! I was downstairs and I heard Jared yelling for me. After seeing that the bathroom was being flooded, I ran to the basement to switch the water off. Thankfully we had previously located this switch when we moved in in case of emergencies just like this. In only a matter of seconds the water had not only soaked our bathroom but had leaked in between the shower walls and went downstairs to the bathroom on the main floor and all the ways to the basement. That drain in our cement basement is so useful! Haha. Anyways, we don't know anything about plumbing, so we called our great neighbor, Boyd, who came right over to help us out. He discovered that the gasket and a metal ring inside the shower knob had broke. After a trip with us to the hardware store he fixed our shower knob. We are SOOO grateful for him! Oh, and just a plug for food storage...we were without water for about an hour and Jared really wanted to brush his teeth. I was so pleased to bring him a gallon of water from our food storage! You never know when you might need something!
This last weekend we had tons of fun with Mom, Dad, Jake, Rachel, Jax, and Bridger. Sorry family this is pretty much a repeat from Rachel's blog since I took most of the pictures from her blog. I'm not even going to try to put cute captions under the pics like she did because they were so good.

My little helpers! Jax I need more wood brought in :)
So competitive!
We just love the hot spring. Mom even wants a SEASON PASS! LOL. Mom you will never live that one down. Darcy, Jackie and Duke-be sure to ask her about that one.
Poor Jared was so captivated by the BYU vs New Mexico game. He was crushed that we lost. But BYU actually went up spot in the rankings to #8!
Ketchup is even good on cantelope
Jaxon showing me his "muscles" after hauling some wood into the house.
You have to watch this video. Jaxon was so into cycling on the Wii. He got a little mad when he was losing. Thanks for coming family! We miss you big time already.

Odds and Ends of Life in WSS
I substituted three times this week.
Tuesday: kindergarten aid
Wednesday: high school history teacher
Thursday: music teacher
And next Wednesday: Spanish teacher. Ole!!
I was amazed at how well the kids behaved. I like being in the high school the best. It really is an easy job and I love the schedule. I get to be choosy about which days I work, and if Jared works the night before I get home right about the time he wakes up. Perfect.
I don't think I've written anything about our branch here. There are usually about 20 of us that attend, counting kids!! We only meet for two hours because there is so few of us. How sweet is that?? So, the 2nd hour rotates between Sunday school and combined Relief Society/ Priesthood. During fast and testimony meeting pretty much everyone has to bear their testimonies. This will be good for us. Another quirky thing is when someone is giving their talk they usually get comments, etc. from the congregation. :) Did I mention we meet in a community building? Jared has 3 callings: Branch Clerk, Branch Executive Secretary, and Financial Clerk. It sounds like a lot but with so few of us there isn't much to do. I am the 2nd counselor in the Relief Society. We just love our little "twig". We are really hoping and praying for lots of missionary work while we are here. I think this is one of the main reasons the Lord wants us here.
Jared loves his job. I think everyone in the community really likes him too. When I subbed this week a couple of kids asked me if my husband was the tall nurse with the black and red ZigZag Reebox shoes? LOL
Lenny likes it here too. He likes to watch out the window for deer. If he sees one he will growl. We usually have 2 or 3 deer come through our yard everyday. Can you spot 3 does?

Book Reviews
I read a lot of books this last year. Here are four I loved...and I'm looking for some more good reads so send your recommendations my way!
Most recently I read "The Christmas Sweater" by Glenn Beck. It was a tear jerker. But really makes you appreciate your blessings.
Next up:
Hilarious. I can never look at chocolate cream pie the same way :). Having lived in the South, this book shed a little more light on way people down there are the way they are. It truly is a different world.
Another favorite:
Ahhh...what can I say about this one? Marriage is so special and I love how this book portrays that.
Another tear jerker. Makes you stop and think about your life. Each of our lives are intertwined with so many others. What we do here on Earth really does matter. A little reminder to use my life to serve others.

Goal for 2011
Isn't it beautiful? Lately I've been wanting to learn how to play. So my musically talented sister in law Ariel (she plays the cello, piano, saxophone, and use to play a little bit of guitar), loaned me her guitar to try out. Think I can do it? I've just been watching videos on youtube. I know some individual notes and a few chords. Its tricky. Any tips or suggestions for me?
Christmas Memories
Grandma and Leslie making yummy sugar cookies
Jeff and Maddi
Whitney
Cade...who always seems to have food on his face and shirt :)
Me and the little munchkin
The lovely Ariel
Winning isn't everything, it's just what I do. Our nephew Quinn loves getting Jared funny t-shirts for Christmas. And of course Jare loves wearing them.
