19 Months: Chatterbox

 19 Months Old

My vocabulary is growing everyday. Right now I'm really into saying words with the "ck" sound and "sss" sound. Here are some new words I've learned in the last few weeks (and there are a lot more that Mom has forgotten or taken for granted)

Other things we did this month was a trip to WSS. Mom and I had a blast swimming in the hot springs while Daddy worked. I loved floating on my back while mom pulled me around the pool and jumping into the water from the edge of the pool. We've been enjoying some warmer weather and so we've been outside a lot going for walks and pushing/riding cars on the driveway. I decided to ride my bus off the driveway down the hill and I did a faceplant. I came up laughing with dirt and grass in my mouth. Such a boy!

I still love to read books. Lately I've been going to sleep by reading a book to my doggy.

 Daddy worked 5 long days in a row so Mom and I spent the time at Papa's. Gotta love his gun rack turned into "crutch holder". But that didn't slow us down any!

 Mom asked me who my best buddy was and I said, "MAMA!!"

 We said farewell to our friends the Beechers. They are off to Colorado for bigger and better things. Brother Beecher was our caseworker for LDS Family Services. We'll miss you guys! Thanks for all you did for our family!

I got into mom's cedar chest and had to try on her wedding veil.

 We are practicing up for a big Easter egg hunt this weekend!

 So excited to find snacks inside the eggs!

I love being a big boy and sitting in my booster seat.

Grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup has been my favorite meal lately. Really any kind of soup I can drink straight from my bowl is my favorite.

 I love to "paint" with water. Keeps me busy for a good 15 minutes.

 Its also fun to put the water in my hair.

 Oh raspberries!

Playing hide and seek in the bathroom cupboard. I like to open the door and say "peek!"

18 Month Stats

23.5 pounds 20th percentile

32.5 inches 50th percentile

Sleeping pattern is usually 11 hours at night with a two hour nap during the day ( yes, I'm a lucky mama!).

He can say about 13 words plus some sign language. Which has really helped with communication and we have avoided a lot of tempertantrums because of this.

Going on day 6 of being binkie free! And he has only asked for it twice. For the last few months he was only allowed to have it at night time and if he put one in his mouth during the day we would tell him you don't need a binky. Yucky. And he would take it out of his mouth and throw it on the ground. Then the other day I just told him it got thrown away in the garbage and the garbage truck took it away and he said "ya". That first night I put him to bed and I could hear him looking for it in his crib and then he said "uh-oh". But then I guess he was too tired to care and he fell asleep. He gave it up way easier than I thought he would.

Had his last two booster shots at his 18 month checkup. No more vaccinations until Kindergarten. Yeehaw!

He now has 7 teeth. Two on the bottom and his four front teeth on top and now a top molar that is barely poking through. I think this might be the cause of his poor eating habits this last week. He doesn't want to eat anything. He just plays with his food or throws it. Or maybe he's just the typical toddler who would rather be running around than sitting down to eat. Who knows.

 He is our Mr. Fix It. He insisted on helping scewing the air vent back into the wall after we finished painting.

 He loves playdates. Even though he's not smiling he had a great time with his buddy Bryce.

 He's a big help around the house. He likes to load and unload the dishwasher

 We had a fun Saturday with Papa and Grandma and "Little Blackie". The boys also went 4 wheeling while Mom and I finished painting. Brigs took advantage of Papa needing to sit and elevate his leg and sat next to him and read a lot of books with him :)

 Had to take a pic of Brig's funny sleeping posistions. Knees curled under with bum in the air is his preferred method.

 Watch out! Grandma means business with the paint roller. It was hard keeping up with her :) THANKS MOM! I guess I still need to post pics of the final product...

 "Mom, its cool if I smear yogurt in my hair and all over the table right?"

 "Because I'm a cutie and have you wrapped around my little finger."

 "More berries please!"

17 Months

Brigham at 17 months:

~24 pounds

I just learned to jump with both feet coming off of the ground, while saying "hop" or "bow" (bounce).

I could sit and read books for hours.

My appetite has picked up and I want to eat all of the time.

I'm very affectionate. Will wave and blow kisses at anyone and everyone. Even cars that pass by.

I started going to nursery a few weeks early and am really liking playing with the other kids.

I think its the coolest thing to hangout with the young women and scouts in our ward (Dad is a scout master and mom is YW secretary).

I can make the sounds of most animals. New ones this month are owl, monkey, elephant, and sheep.

I'm either going to be a mechanic or engineer when I grow up. Mom and Dad took me to the paint store and I started playing nicely with the blocks in the children's corner. After Mom and Dad bought the paint they found me lying on my back underneath a professional paint sprayer twisting off a screw. I was covered in grease but I sure wanted to know how that thing was put together!

 

 

We took a trip to Missoula to play at the water park with the cousins and papa and grandma! Loved that papa had one last hoorah before his surgery! We all came zipping out of those water slides!

Mom and Dad started painting the house (just about done, minor hold up with the yellow paint but it is growing on us.)

I'm SUPER ticklish, especially on my neck and under my chin.

I got to help take care of cousin Gracelin while Aunt Ariel took her NCLEX (and passed! congrats Ariel R.N.)!

I love babies and was very concerned if she cried. I tried giving her my food and toys to make her happy.

The weather has been so warm we went for a stroll downtown and had to stop at Parrots candies

Historical Reeder's Alley...gold miners lived here. First cabin in the valley built in 1864.

Dad and Uncle Jorden went ice fishing on Mission Lake on the reservation. Dad caught a 4 pound trout!

 Mr. Brown eyes! I hung out with Gramma while Mom and Dad went to Cardston to the temple.

 I watched Grandpa go to work on the train! Chooo choo!

 

 I'm trying so hard to put on my own shoes!
