We now have 15 nieces and nephews! Bridger Jacob Haynes was born Nov 17. Isn't he adorable? We can't wait to see him next week! Congrats Rachel, Jake, and big brother Jaxon!

What we've been doing
I got a plead from my Dad to post something besides the Yankees post. I guess he got tired of looking at them =)
Jared spoiled me for my birthday last Tuesday. He bought me flowers, took me shopping most of the day (impressive huh?) and then out to eat at Macaroni Grill (one of my favorite restaurants!) for dinner. Thanks honey!
So I've been pretty busy lately. My final semester at BYU is wrapping up. I'm way excited but also nervous to enter the real world. This last week I started job hunting. With the economy right now there isn't a whole lot out there for entry-level positions. I've applied for a couple of jobs recently, and I'm waiting to hear back. Both of these companies work with businesses in the Utah valley to help their employees want to lead healthier lives. If I were to get hired I'd be like a health coach, meaning assessing the health of these employees and then helping them improve their health and well-being through instruction, motivation etc. So we'll just have to see, I just want something to keep me busy. If anyone hears of any openings that are health related be sure to let me know!
Jared has been busy with school also. He found out recently that he gets to do his Capstone semester (meaning his final semester, like an internship) at UVRMC in the ER. After he's finished there he'll have over 200 hours of experience in the ER which will be awesome for his resume! Maybe after he graduates in April they'll want to hire him on. That would be perfect since it is the closest hospital to where we live. Anyways, that's what we've been up to and hopefully this post wasn't too boring!

The Adams family and the Oregon Coast
I got to spend 5 days with my sister Darcy, her husband Perry, and their adorable boys, Cash and Kyler. I had so much fun! They live in Toledo, OR, about 7 miles from the coast. Sweet huh? It was beautiful and I took a lot of pictures...
This is at the aquarium...look out Cash! Its a giant crab!
Happy Halloween! Cash was a race car driver and Kyler a football player-pads and all. I think between the two they ate 12 suckers in about an hour! They loved it, and I loved the chocolate they didn't want. hehe

Cash loves to gather the chicken eggs. He's such a good helper!
Darcy and Perry have a super nice, huge yard! My job was to push Cash up the hill in his truck and then he'd laugh all the ways back down. Sometimes he'd even go backwards.
This chunky monkey loves to eat! So darn cute!

The Oregon coast has so many neat rocks that have been slowly carved away be the waves. Darcy spoiled me and took me to lots of different beaches along the coast.
This is Cobblestone beach with the tide out. Instead of sand there are smoothly rounded lava rocks that clatter as the waves go over them- just like a horse-drawn carriage going over a cobblestone road. This is where we saw lots of seals and sea lions too. If you look closely there are some sitting on the large rock above.
My favorite thing was to explore all of the tide pools. It was like a treasure hunt. One protected beach had so many starfish! Too bad I couldn't keep one.

We also made a trip to the Tillamook cheese factory. The cheese and ice cream there was so delicious. The boys wanted to play with the cows =)

Fall means soup time!
We love soup. Here is one zippy recipe Jackie gave me. Its got a different taste to it but I can't get enough of it. Plus, It is easy to make and pretty healthy too!
Tortilla Soup with Orange
1/4 c oil (to saute the veggies in)
1 medium onion, chopped fine
1 clove garlic, minced
4 celery stalks, thinly sliced
1 cup chopped carrots
2 1/2 c. chicken broth
1 1/2 c. orange juice
1 (16 oz) jar salsa (Any kind, I like at least a medium hot)
1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into pieces
Tortilla chips
Cilantro (opt.)
Shredded cheese (opt.)
Saute onion, garlic and celery in soup pot. Stir in broth, orange juice, salsa, and carrots. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until carrots are tender. Add uncooked chicken pieces and simmer uncovered, about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, just until chicken is done. Try not to let it boil.
To serve, place chips in soup bowls. Ladle soup over chips. Can sprinkle with cheese and cilantro.
Don't you just love that sweet and tangy taste?

We Love Arches National Park
We spent Friday and Saturday camping in Moab with my sister Jackie and her cute family. We shared lots of laughs and giggles together.
Little Cooper was quite the trooper on the hikes.

It was our first time in the park. It was stunningly beautiful! I could've stared at this view for hours.
The picture above is of Sand dune Arch. There is a lot of super soft red sand all around the arch. We all enjoyed taking off our shoes and burying them in the cool sand. It was like a giant sandbox for the kids!

End of Summer Fun
Here's some fun things we've been doing since we've been back...We are loving being back in Springville!
We love walking by the corn and hay fields near our house. I think one of my favorite smells is freshly cut hay. mmm...reminds me of home.
Camping up in Mapleton Canyon. It's just five miles from our house! Tinfoil dinners.
Mr. Eagle Scout lighting the fire with only one match. Impressive.
Hiking to the Y. I don't recommend doing it in 90 degree weather though.
We are working on painting the trim in our house. It used to be the same color as the paint on the walls. Now its white and contrasts the toasty almond color of the walls. It really looks classy.
The last two weekends we've been waking up early to hit the awesome garage sales around Springville. Every Saturday there are at least 20 cars parked on Main Street with garage sale signs in their windows. We love going to the ones that are in the mansions up the canyon. We've gotten some great steals. Here are some of our favorites...
I realized most of the books we own are textbooks ;)
This bedroom set was practically free! So now if you come visit you don't have to sleep on an air mattress!
I got this Singer sewing machine for 5 bucks!
Nice fishing poles Jared!
